6 Insanely Effective Ways to Write a Tweet

Part of running an IRL business plus building here on Twitter is the ability to adapt. Writing an effective headline for your tweets can be the difference between selling your piece of art or product and not selling it. Below we will dive into 6 tips that can help you write scroll stopping tweet headlines, hopefully resulting in more success with engagement and ultimately sales.
1. Be very detailed and specific in your tweets
Let people know exactly what they will get by clicking on your content. There is so much information being thrown at you on Twitter, creating clear expectations for your viewer is important.
If you fail to set expectations for your tweets and send people to an irrelevant post, you very well could lose your credibility
An example of a good tweet that is very specific is “5 Pieces of Advice to Help You Gain Your First 100 Newsletter Readers”
2. Use numbers and data in your tweets
One of the first ways to be very specific in your tweets is by using numbers and data.
When using numbers in your tweets, use the actual number. The numbers will take up less space in your tweet and they stand out to people scrolling down their timeline.
Here is a good tweet title example “9 Easy Tricks That Quadrupled my Income in 1 Year.”
3. Create curiosity and mystery with your tweet
People are naturally curious and have a desire to satisfy that curiosity.
You should aim to create curiosity while still being specific
“These 2 things are all you need to write the best Twitter profile.”
4. Ask your audience questions in your tweets
Asking your audience questions in a powerful way to get engagement on your tweets.
Asking a question causes two main reactions for a viewer. It gets them to pause and think, which is two big steps towards the engagement.
The question can even be an obvious one, because asking the question creates a little bit of doubt, resulting in engagement.
5. Power words exponentially increase your engagement
Think of how fast someone is scrolling down their timeline, you have a few seconds and a few words to catch their attention. Boring writing won’t get the job done.
The verbiage in your tweet needs to be POWERFUL in order for your tweet to be effective.
The title of this weeks newsletter is “6 Insanely Effective Ways to Write a Tweet”, this sounds much better than “6 Ways to Write a Tweet”.
6. Create the call to action
It’s possible your audience doesn’t understand what you need them to do next and you’ll need to tell them.
Make sure you create the call to action. If you need a RT, if you’d like them to sign up for your newsletter, etc.
Most of us do this by saying “link below”, or “RT my pinned”, etc.
My challenge to you is try incorporating a few of these techniques into each tweet and see how it helps your engagement. Try switching it up and doing different combinations, going back to analyze which work best and then using those more often. Building a brand and promoting your art or business on Twitter can be very challenging. Use these 6 tips to try and make things easier for you on your journey.
